Terms of use
1. The service
845.fr lets you turn a web address into a short link, free of charge, with an optional custom alias and a click counter. Every short link comes with a downloadable QR code (PNG, SVG) in the 845.fr design, with a customisable colour; a classic unbranded version is also offered and may become a paid option. The WiFi page generates a QR code and an NFC payload to join a WiFi network, computed in the user's browser: neither the network name nor the password is transmitted to 845.fr in a stored form. The service is provided “as is”, without registration and without any guarantee of permanent availability.
2. Prohibited uses
It is forbidden to create links to content that is illegal, fraudulent (phishing, scams), malicious (malware), defamatory, hateful, violent or pornographic, or that infringes third-party rights, and to use the service for spam or to bypass filters. Private IP addresses, non-http(s) schemes and loops to 845.fr are refused automatically.
3. Moderation
845.fr may deactivate or delete any link, address, account or card at any time, without notice or justification, notably following a report sent to bonjour@845.fr.
4. Liability
845.fr is a technical intermediary: it is not responsible for the content of destination sites, nor for the use made of short links, disposable addresses, QR codes or business cards. The user is solely responsible for the content he or she links to or publishes.
5. Link lifetime
Links have no set expiry date but may be deleted in case of abuse, prolonged inactivity or termination of the service.
6. Disposable email addresses
845.fr lets you create a temporary, customisable address xxx@845.fr whose incoming messages are forwarded to the address given by the user for the chosen duration (1 hour to 30 days, extendable within that limit). After expiry or deactivation, messages are refused. The user warrants being the holder of the destination address. Using these addresses to impersonate someone, bypass bans, create accounts in bulk, receive or relay illegal content, spam or malware, or for any fraud, is forbidden. The service is a simple relay: forwarded messages are neither read nor kept (only a technical log without content is kept). Messages over 10 MB, more than 20 attachments, executable files and messages flagged by the spam filter are not forwarded. 845.fr guarantees neither delivery nor delivery time. An expired address may be reassigned after 90 days.
7. Member accounts and virtual business cards
The virtual business card requires an account (email and a password of at least 6 characters, or Google / Apple sign-in). The user is responsible for the confidentiality of his or her credentials and for the accuracy of the published information, warrants holding the rights on the photo and logo uploaded, and shall not publish content that is illegal, misleading, impersonates a third party or infringes its rights. 845.fr may unpublish a card or close an account in case of breach. The card is accessible to anyone who has its address, its QR code or an NFC card pointing to it. Handles are first come, first served; reserved or misleading handles, or those matching third-party names or trademarks, may be released at the rights holder's request. The user may export his or her data and delete the account at any time.
8. API
The public APIs (POST /api/shorten, POST /api/mailbox) are subject to the same rules and limits as the forms. Abusive automated use may lead to blocking.
